SDCL & Sustainability Sustainability is embedded in the constitution, business and operation of SDCL. While environmental and social considerations determine SDCL's business activities, sustainability is integrated into the choices it makes about its own consumption and waste management under an overall objective of resource efficiency. SDCL selects its suppliers based on their ability to demonstrate performance of products against a number of metrics including the source of materials, recyclability, energy efficiency and worker health and safety. SDCL aims to ensure that its paper is procured from Forest Stewardship Council approved sources. SDCL is a carbon neutral firm. It achieves this neutrality first through energy efficiency and second by offsetting greenhouse gases used in its offices and as a result of staff travel through the purchase of voluntary emission reductions.
